I was thrilled to be quoted in the recently published Spring 2008 issue of WORK Magazine. In “Home Work: Inside the do’s and don’t’s of working from home,” I offered advice on working from home, and the importance of compensating for the regular social interaction you’d get in a traditional workplace.

Closed For The Holidays

28 Media will be closed from December 21, 2007 through January 7, 2008.
For my first real vacation in 3 years, I will be overseas, traveling to different parts of Egypt… a 4-day Nile cruise, 5 days at the Red Sea, and 4 days visiting family in Cairo.

Tomorrow morning, I’m off to NYC for the Future of Web Design conference. I’m looking forward to an exciting two days of seminars and workshops with some of the biggest names in the industry, meeting other designers and developers from around the country, and the inspiration I always get from conferences like this.

Refresh Richmond Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

A quick, and belated, announcement… the May meeting of Refresh Richmond marked the one-year anniversary of the group! A special thanks goes out to all who have made this group possible. Together, we’ve been able to bring area web professionals together in an environment of learning and collaboration, and hopefully strengthened Richmond’s web community in the process.

A couple months back, 28 Media was nominated for a VMFA MUSE Award, for my work with Refresh Richmond. It was an honor to be nominated, and a special thanks goes to Charles Ajemian for the nomination.
Unfortunately, I found out last week that I didn’t make the list of finalists. Best of luck to everyone who did, and I’ll see you at the awards “Un-Gala!”

I’m off to Chicago this morning for An Event Apart, “a concentrated, creative learning session that will change the way [I] approach web design.” It promises to be a great trip, where I’ll get to meet and learn from some of the best and brightest in the industry… designers and developers whose websites and books I’ve read, and whose work I’ve followed for years. Needless to say, I’m more than a little excited!

28Media Featured in Richmond Times-Dispatch

I was interviewed a few weeks ago by a reporter from the Richmond Times-Dispatch who was profiling Richmond entrepreneurs, and the article came out today. Somehow, I ended up sounding a bit like Paris Hilton in a couple of those quotes, but, like, you know, whatever… I’m still extremely thrilled to have been included in the article.
Refresh Richmond Taking Shape

Less than a month since launching the website, we’ll be holding the first meeting of Refresh Richmond at C3 this Wednesday evening. Response to the group has been phenomenal; in the three weeks since launching the website, nearly 100 Richmond web designers have signed up for the mailing list!

I’m happy to announce the launch of the new 28MEDIA website… a site that’s been in the making since 28MEDIA became a full-time endeavor last July. But since then, the time constraints of client work, and the added pressure of working on my own site, have somehow prevented it from happening… until now.
