Protecting Your Online Identity

On October 20, I’ll be leading a panel discussion called “Protecting Your Online Identity” at the Greater Richmond Chamber’s InVision Chesterfield event. I’ll be joined by Chris Gatewood, Candace Nicolls, and Rick Whittington to discuss both offensive andf defensive techniques for using social media and online tools to build and maintain your online identity.

I was thrilled to be quoted in the recently published Spring 2008 issue of WORK Magazine. In “Home Work: Inside the do’s and don’t’s of working from home,” I offered advice on working from home, and the importance of compensating for the regular social interaction you’d get in a traditional workplace.

Off To NYC

Tomorrow morning, I’m off to NYC for the Future of Web Design conference. I’m looking forward to an exciting two days of seminars and workshops with some of the biggest names in the industry, meeting other designers and developers from around the country, and the inspiration I always get from conferences like this.
Refresh Richmond Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

A quick, and belated, announcement… the May meeting of Refresh Richmond marked the one-year anniversary of the group! A special thanks goes out to all who have made this group possible. Together, we’ve been able to bring area web professionals together in an environment of learning and collaboration, and hopefully strengthened Richmond’s web community in the process.
28 Media Nominated for VMFA MUSE Award

A couple months back, 28 Media was nominated for a VMFA MUSE Award, for my work with Refresh Richmond. It was an honor to be nominated, and a special thanks goes to Charles Ajemian for the nomination.
Unfortunately, I found out last week that I didn’t make the list of finalists. Best of luck to everyone who did, and I’ll see you at the awards “Un-Gala!”
