28 Media is owned and run by Sharif Ewees, an experienced web geek who has worked in the industry since the turn of the century.
FIRST, A STEP BACK.
While studying English at Clemson University and working part-time in a graduate computer lab, a professor handed me a dog-eared HTML manual and asked me to build him a website. Granted, that first website was a complete monstrosity... but I was hooked.
Over the next year, I dove in head first and soon landed a web internship in Clemson's Publications and Marketing Department. After completing my Masters in Professional Communication, I moved to Richmond and gained five years of experience with companies ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to small, specialized ad agencies.
28MEDIA IS BORN.
28MEDIA was created in early 2005 with a simple goal: to build clean, compliant websites for clients of all sizes.
I've since had the pleasure of doing just that. And, in the process, I've worked with great people, learned new software and improved techniques, expanded my list of services, and had a great time doing it.
SO, WHAT DOES THE 28 MEAN?
Ahh, the trusty 28. Well, when trying to come up with a company name, I ran through dozens of options and kept coming back to 28.
Why? Well, my birthday is on the 28th, my high school lacrosse number was 28, my ATM password is... well, forget about that one. In short, 28 has always been a lucky number for me, and it just felt right.
